36. Autumn 1991 Issue of The Puppet Master

Artist / Maker: N/A
Object Details:

Across the Guild’s 90‑year history, thirteen different editors have shaped Puppet Master, each bringing their own style and influence to the magazine. These frequent changes occasionally led to inconsistencies in issue numbering, with some numbers duplicated or missing altogether. Since 1991, however, the magazine has been published annually in a larger A4 format, and in 2012 it featured colour for the first time to mark the 350th anniversary of Mr Punch.

The longest‑serving editor to date is Guild Treasurer Brian Hibbitt, who assumed the role in 1991 and continues to oversee the publication. Under his stewardship, Puppet Master has firmly established itself as one of the leading regularly produced publications on puppetry, valued for its breadth, quality, and commitment to the art form.
