8. The Lanchester Grand Circus – Little Willie the Clown marionette

Little Willie the Clown was one of the earliest marionettes created for Waldo Lanchester’s Grand Circus. Designed as a comic performer, he became known for a playful routine in which he balanced a Belisha beacon on the end of his nose. He soon became the mascot of the circus on posters and other advertising for the show.
